DMSAS was commissioned by St. John’s College Annapolis to renovate Edensword Hall to improve accessibility and enhance student life within the historic residence hall.

Key upgrades included the installation of a new elevator, significantly improving building access, as well as updates to student dorm rooms with new finishes, lighting, and hardware. DMSAS also oversaw the completion of two major ground-floor spaces: the Annapolis Cup Café and the college bookstore. Both interiors feature cherry millwork, providing a warm and cohesive design language.

The café has become a vibrant social hub for students, while the bookstore’s intimate layout fosters a quiet, comfortable setting for browsing and reading. Together, these spaces blend functionality and style, supporting a greater sense of community engagement and student connection within Edensword Hall.
