Rothschild College, directly adjacent to DMSAS’ recently completed Zeppos College at Vanderbilt University, is home to 330 students and opened in the summer of 2022. The 205,000 SF building is organized around three courtyards, one of which is open to the public and part of a promenade that will link back to Alumni Lawn and E. Bronson Ingram College. A turreted, four-story gate marks the entry to the College from the west as the public promenade passes through. In addition to a Dining Room and Great Room, the College includes a cutting-edge active learning classroom and a 100-seat black box theater which provides a flexible venue for student-focused artistic programming and rehearsals. The exterior uses a similar Collegiate Gothic architectural language as the other new Colleges and historic campus core and gains a unique identity through horizontal banding and polychromatic brick patterns.
