David M. Schwarz Architects has won a 2022 ICAA Texas John Staub Award for our work at Dickies Arena. The multi-purpose arena hosts the Fort Worth Stock Show & Rodeo, sports including NCAA Basketball, concerts and more. Designed in an aesthetic that references the historic Art Deco design of Will Rogers Coliseum and drawing influence from Texas culture, Dickies arena seats up to 14,000 people. The building’s four distinct lobbies are designed with a timeless palette of materials including patterned terrazzo floors. Art, including mosaics above the north and south entrances, recall the history of Fort Worth and the West.

ICAA Texas is one of the fifteen regional chapters of the Institute of Classical Art and Architecture, the leading national nonprofit organization dedicated to advancing the practice and appreciation of the classical tradition in architecture and the allied arts. ICAA fulfills its mission through three program areas: education, public education, and awards.
