The 189 W. Main St. Hotel is a 152-key hotel that will feature ground floor event, restaurant, and retail space at the corner of Main Street and Spring Street. It is the second DMSAS-designed hotel in downtown Spartanburg. Located on a key site along Main Street, adjacent to Daniel Morgan Square, the project responds to a richly layered urban context that includes early 20th-century commercial buildings and the nearby AC Hotel.
DMSAS is collaborating closely with our client to balance aesthetic vision and strategic goals, including budget, operator requirements, and target market expectations, while aligning with Spartanburg’s urban design guidelines. The proposed design steps the building’s massing from four stories along Main Street to six stories at the rear, easing the hotel into its surroundings.
