Zara was born and raised in Iran and lived there until her early thirties; she immigrated to the US with her husband to start a new life. Here Zara was able to fulfill her dream of becoming an Architect. Zara attended Montgomery College and transferred to Morgan State University were she received her bachelor’s degree. Her passion for history and historic buildings inspired her to pursue a master’s degree in Architecture and Historic Preservation from the University of Maryland. Zara has also followed her passion for historic preservation and was appointed to the Montgomery County Historic Preservation Commission to serve the community.

Zara currently resides in Silver Spring Maryland and enjoys cooking, hiking, and playing traditional Iranian instruments. She also loves woodworking and designing and building furniture, and other decorative pieces.
