Markus joined DMSAS in November 2019 and as a long-time Maryland resident, Markus began his education at Montgomery College before transferring to Morgan State University to earn his Bachelors of Science in Architecture. Following undergrad, Markus attended Northeastern University to earn his Master of Architecture degree. In 2016, Markus started his architectural career designing custom single family homes for 3.5 years before entering into the commercial world. Markus quickly adapted the DMSAS design philosophy in his work for the Cook Children’s Medical Center Dodson Expansion project, specifically the whimsical interior of the Communicating Space. He helped on a private residential project in Santa Monica, apartment buildings in Newton, MA, and is working on interior finishes for apartment units in Bethesda, MD. Out of the office, Markus has made a name for himself as MVP for our 2020 DMSAS Skeeball League. He also enjoys learning and caring for his plants, traveling, testing out new recipes and watching Kdramas with a glass of red wine or two.
