DesignerMaria Maxwell joined David M. Schwarz Architects in 2025 as a graduate of the University of Notre Dame with a Bachelor of Architecture and a minor in Italian Studies. Prior to her arrival, she lived in Southern California, contributing to a variety of high-end custom residential and hospitality projects.
Having been born into a peripatetic family, Maria spent much of her childhood in airports and reflecting on what made an environment beautiful. However, it was a fateful conversation at a coffee shop with an architecture student that persuaded her to pursue a career that would fuse her artistic and mathematical sensibilities. In the summer of 2022, she developed a passion for crafting during an internship that brought her into contact with exceptional artisans.
In her spare time, Maria enjoys watercoloring, planning elaborate day trips, experimenting with her film camera, and, more often than not, curling up on a couch with her Kindle.
