Lilly Agutu joined David M. Schwarz Architects in 2023 as a Designer. She holds a Bachelors degree from the Michael Graves College School of Public Architecture at Kean University and a Masters in Architecture degree from Yale University. Lilly was a 2022 recipient of the David M. Schwarz Travel Fellowship and traveled to the Swahili coast in Kenya. While there, she studied the evolution of Swahili cities and architecture from the Medieval period to its distinct present aesthetic. Her passions in architecture lie between the singular built form and the urban fabric into which it stitches. Because architecture and urbanism go hand-in-hand, some of Lilly’s interests include advocating for public places, civic spaces, and affordable housing as a human right. She has a cat named Lulu.
