The $83 Million, 270,000 SF Cook Children’s Medical Center Dodson Specialty Clinics provides a new home for expanded and consolidated outpatient services, while maintaining the consistent and complete feeling of the whole campus. At six stories, the new building will house nearly all of Cook’s outpatient clinics, doctors’ offices, and a six-operating room ambulatory surgery and imaging center.

The exterior of the Dodson Specialty Clinics building uses the architectural aesthetic and kit of parts established by the original Main Hospital and a dozen subsequent additions. The public circulation extends the ‘Main Street’ corridor that runs through the other buildings. This creates a seamless and unified experience of the campus. The upper three floors are directly connected to the North Tower, creating Centers of Excellence between inpatient specialty beds and their corresponding outpatient clinics and doctors’ offices.

Two building entrances are provided, one for the Ambulatory Surgery Center at the lower level and the other for the Outpatient Clinics at the first floor along the west façade.
