The Smith Center for the Performing Arts will have two performance spaces including a state of the art 2,050 seat multi-purpose hall, and an education center that includes a cabaret theatre and rehearsal space. The large theater will be appropriate for first run Broadway shows and other major touring attractions as well as orchestra, opera and dance performances. Both the individual buildings and the complex as a whole are being designed to achieve, at minimum, LEED Silver certification. The Smith Center is currently scheduled to open in 2011.
The Smith Center for the Performing Arts will be the first major civic performance hall in the United States to earn LEED accreditation. Working with our sustainability consultant, Green Building Services out of Portland, DMSAS is currently leading the design team to achieve a silver or gold rating for the project from the nation's foremost sustainability organization.
