The Twinbrook office building serves as the first step in a process to making the Twinbrook metro area an active, inviting spot where residents, visitors and travelers converge.  The Twinbrook project includes the JBG Office Building, a 350,000 square foot, 13-story building, located in Rockville, Maryland next to the Twinbrook Metro stop.  Its location, on a node of the Washington, D.C. metro area transit, means that this area is in high demand as a living, working and shopping location, while an adjacent hotel serves as a major travel and conference destination.

When complete, approximately 25,000 square feet of the office building will be devoted to retail, with the remainder comprising office space.  The preliminary master plan for the site intends to reinvigorate the streetscape with redefined entrances and new residential buildings: the site will be redeveloped with a series of 8-story new residence buildings featuring ground floor retail.  As part of the redevelopment, the hotel is considering relocating its entrance in anticipation of these changes.  A new entrance on Bouic Avenue will allow it to take advantage of the activity along the street while creating a stronger, more easily identifiable street presence to attract visitors.
