Sid Richardson Museum
Fort Worth, TX - 2006

The Sid W. Richardson Foundation selected David M. Schwarz/Architectural Services, Inc. to design the renovation and expansion of the Sid Richardson Collection of Western Art in downtown Fort Worth, Texas.  Along with the work on the spaces that house the collection, the project also includes the renovation of four thousand square feet of offices for the Foundation on the second floor.

Updates to the museum, which boasts over 60 paintings by renowned artists Frederic Remington and Charles M. Russell, include erections of a new granite, brick and glass façade, reconfiguration of gallery spaces, and expansion of the current building by 1,800 square feet. The expansion focuses on the addition of a group entrance and more educational space for the museums broadening array of programs.

Construction began following the completion of the Van Cliburn International Piano Competition in June of 2005 and the collection re-opened in November of 2006 as the Sid Richardson Museum.
